Heather has been able to reduce budget line items and total expenditures consistently while in office and currently operates one of the leanest budgets in all of Rutherford County Government. Heather is a proven fiscal conservative with an irrefutable track record.

Heather brought free-market practices to her government office by implementing a merit-based pay system. Heather believes that incentive creates a thriving work environment. With this implementation the team at the Register's Office has grown in skill, proficiency, confidence, and cohesion.
County Government salaries are a matter of public record and any citizen may access specific salary information by submitting a public information request.
As the leader of The Register of Deeds office, Heather values both the public nature of her position and the privacy of her dedicated deputies that work in the office. It is out of discretion and respect for her employees that she will not post their salaries—she may be an elected official, but her deputies are not. She respects their right to maintain some anonymity during the election season.
